I’m a 33 year old who’s finding himself loved into being.
I currently serve as the Minister of Music at Park Avenue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in New York City. I’m an NPR junkie, love poetry, cooking, gardening, yoga and walking. I live in Harlem with my partner, Eric, and our cat, Izzy.
My faith journey has been rich and complex and I find myself deeply interested in the connections between music and spirituality, sexuality and spirituality, and what it means to be a faithful Christian in our world.
The name of this blog comes from one of my favorite spiritual writers, James Alison. My journey has been a gradual discovery that I am genuinely liked by God; that I am held by One who is gently loving me into being. I invite you into the conversation and am excited to see what will unfold.

Hi, Paul,
I’ve been checking out church websites and noticed that your concert schedule button doesn’t lead me to any concerts. Will there be any concerts at your church during the dates of May 20 – 25. I’m planning to visit New York and thought I would stop by if there was something on the schedule.
